UP Ration Card Download: e-Ration Card PDF Guide
Lost your card or need a copy for a form? Here are the three routes people use to get a UP ration card copy (राशन कार्ड डाउनलोड), what each one gives you, and what is still unconfirmed.

"UP ration card download" can mean different things. Some people want a PDF to attach to a form. Some lost their paper card. Some want proof on their phone. There are three common routes, and they give different results. This independent guide explains each one, with the official links. We are not a government website and we cannot download a card for you.
One important point first: a printout of your details from a portal is not a fresh physical ration card. It shows what the department's records say about your card. Whether an office accepts it depends on that office. If you need a duplicate physical card, ask at your supply office or Jan Seva Kendra.

Route 1: print your card details from fcs.up.gov.in
This route is described by a Tribune sponsored article from September 2024. We could not open the live portal to confirm the labels, so if the screen differs, look for a ration card search or eligibility list link.
- Open fcs.up.gov.in, the official UP Food and Civil Supplies Department portal.
- Look for "Search in Ration Card Eligibility List" (राशन कार्ड पात्रता सूची).
- Choose the search by ration card number (राशन कार्ड संख्या से).
- On the official screen, type the ration card number and the captcha shown on screen.
- Tap "Get OTP". An OTP is sent to the mobile number registered on the card. Type it on the same screen.
- Your card details appear. Use your browser's Print option, or "Save as PDF", to keep a copy.
If your mobile number is not registered or has changed, you will not get the OTP. In that case use the dealer-wise list on the UP ration card list page, which usually does not need an OTP, or ask your supply office how to update the number.

Route 2: DigiLocker
DigiLocker is the central government's digital document wallet. Ration cards in DigiLocker are issued by individual state departments, not by a central body. Uttar Pradesh was reported as issuing ration cards through DigiLocker in July 2022 (iti.directory, and a post by the official DigiLocker account). Third-party guides describe these steps:
- Open DigiLocker or the DigiLocker app and sign in. Use only the official site or app.
- Search for "Food and Civil Supplies Department, Uttar Pradesh".
- Choose "Ration Card".
- Type the ration card number and select your district if asked.
- Tap "Get Document". If it works, the card appears under "Issued Documents" as a PDF.
These steps come from ClearTax and a Tribune sponsored article; we could not confirm them inside DigiLocker. If the document is not fetched, the data on your card may not match, or the service may be down. Try again later or ask your supply office.
Route 3: the Mera Ration app
Mera Ration is the official ONORC app made by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). It is on Google Play with 10M+ downloads, and there is an iPhone listing too. Officially confirmed features (PIB, 2021) include entitlement details, nearby fair price shops, recent transactions and migrant registration. Mera Ration 2.0 was launched on 20 August 2024 with more features, as reported.
Third-party guides, such as a Bajaj Finserv Hindi article from April 2026, say you can view or download the e-ration card in the app. We could not confirm this as an official feature, so treat it as "may work". Install only the app published by National Informatics Centre. Fake look-alike apps exist.
Is the downloaded copy valid?
We could not find an official UP notice that says a downloaded or printed copy is a legal replacement for the physical ration card. Here is the practical picture:
- For taking ration, the card is checked by Aadhaar authentication on the ePoS machine, so you usually do not need the paper card at the shop.
- For forms and documents, whether a printout or DigiLocker copy is accepted is up to the office asking for it. Ask them first.
- For a duplicate physical card, contact your district supply office or Jan Seva Kendra. The official process for duplicates is not confirmed in our sources.
Problems and fixes
- No OTP: your registered mobile may be old. Ask the supply office how to update it.
- Card not found: check the number, or find it through the dealer list. See UP ration card status.
- A member is missing: they may have been suspended for pending e-KYC. See UP ration card e-KYC.
- Site not loading: try in the morning or late evening, or try nfsa.up.gov.in.
Safety warnings
- The OTP for card search is for you only. Type it on the official screen. Never read it out to a caller.
- Do not pay websites or agents for a "ration card PDF". The official routes are free.
- Do not upload your Aadhaar or card photo to unknown sites or WhatsApp numbers.
- This site does not generate or store ration cards and never asks for your card number, Aadhaar or OTP.

Is a downloaded ration card valid as the original?
