UP Ration Card Helpline Number and Complaint
Which number should you call about a UP ration card problem? Here is what is confirmed, what is only commonly listed online, and how to make a complaint about a ration shop or a card.
- ONORC helpline
- 14445 (official, central)
- UP toll-free (commonly listed)
- 1800-1800-150, not confirmed on an official page
- State PDS short code
- 1967, used by many states; not confirmed for UP
- Commissioner office (listed online)
- 0522-2286049, Jawahar Bhawan, Lucknow; not confirmed
- Complaint portal
- UP IGRS / Jansunwai-Samadhan
- State toll-free list
- nfsa.gov.in State/UT toll-free page
If your ration shop gives less grain, refuses ration, or your name disappears from the card, you can complain. The hard part is knowing which number really works. Many websites copy numbers from each other without checking.
This page separates numbers that are confirmed by a government source from numbers that are only commonly listed online. We are an independent guide, not the Food and Civil Supplies Department, and we cannot register complaints. Please keep your ration card and Aadhaar details to yourself; we never need them.
Helpline numbers at a glance
| Number | What it is for | How sure is it? |
|---|---|---|
| 14445 | One Nation One Ration Card toll-free number for beneficiary grievances and distress calls | Official. PIB says it is functional in most states and UTs. The DoT allotted the short code around 2020, as reported. |
| 1967 | State food / PDS call-centre short code used by many states. It routes to the state, not to one national centre. | Commonly listed for UP online. Not confirmed on an official UP page. |
| 1800-1800-150 | UP food department toll-free number for complaints | Commonly listed by third-party sites. Not confirmed on an official page. |
| 0522-2286049 | Commissioner, Food and Logistics Department, Jawahar Bhawan, Lucknow | Listed by a third-party contact site. Not confirmed on an official page. |
Before you rely on a commonly listed number, confirm it on fcs.up.gov.in, on the department's contact page, or on the State/UT toll-free list on nfsa.gov.in. That list was updated on 12 October 2026, but the numbers are shown as an image, so we could not read them out for you.
Which number should you call?
- You are working in another state and the shop there refuses your UP card: call 14445. Portability under One Nation One Ration Card is enabled in all 36 states and UTs, as reported by PRS.
- A problem with a ration shop in UP (less grain, shop shut, dealer asking money): try 1967 or 1800-1800-150, after confirming them on the official site, or contact your district supply office.
- Card cancelled, name removed, or application stuck: the supply office or the Jan Seva Kendra where you applied is often more useful than a call centre, because they can see your file.
How to make a complaint that gets attention
Whichever channel you use, a clear complaint is easier to act on. Follow these steps:
- Note the facts. Write the date, the fair price shop name or number, the dealer's name, and what went wrong.
- Know your entitlement. AAY cards get 35 kg per card a month and PHH cards 5 kg per person, free under PMGKAY. Check the exact amount on our UP entitlement page.
- Call the helpline and ask for a complaint number. Write it down.
- Use the state grievance system if the call does not help. UP's IGRS / Jansunwai-Samadhan system takes complaints, and the Food and Civil Supplies Department ranked 4th on complaint disposal in an April report, as reported by Drishti in May 2025. We could not verify the exact web address, so search for it carefully and check you are on a government domain.
- Visit the supply office with your written note and complaint number if nothing changes.
Share only what the official channel asks for. Do not post your card or Aadhaar number publicly on social media.
Complaint topics people raise most
- Less grain than the card allows. Ration is issued after authentication on the ePoS machine at the shop. Ask the dealer to show the slip.
- Shop refusing a migrant worker. Under ONORC, any fair price shop should serve an NFSA card after Aadhaar authentication.
- Money demanded for e-KYC. The government does not charge for e-KYC at the ration shop beyond what is officially allowed. Report it. See our e-KYC guide.
- Name missing from the list. Check the list first using our list guide.
- Application pending for long. Check the status first using our status guide.
Other contact details listed online
A third-party contact site lists the Commissioner's office email as up.fncs@gmail.com along with the Lucknow phone number above. A wiki also points to a contact page and a contact details PDF on fcs.up.gov.in. We could not open these pages live, so we give them as "commonly listed". Before writing to any email address, confirm it on the official portal. Never send OTPs or full Aadhaar numbers by email.
Beware of fake helplines
Scammers sometimes post fake "ration card customer care" numbers. Watch for these signs:
- The caller asks for an OTP. No genuine helpline needs your OTP.
- The caller asks you to pay a fee to restore a cancelled card or add a name.
- The caller asks you to install a screen-sharing app.
- A website looks official but is not on a gov.in domain.
If you have shared an OTP by mistake, act fast: contact your bank if any bank details were involved, and tell the supply office. For more about the NFSA UP portal, see our nfsa.up.gov.in guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is the UP ration card toll-free number?
1800-1800-150 is commonly listed online as the UP food department toll-free number, but it is not confirmed on an official page. The confirmed central number is 14445, the One Nation One Ration Card helpline. Check fcs.up.gov.in or the nfsa.gov.in toll-free list before calling a commonly listed number.
Is 1967 the ration card helpline for UP?
1967 is a state-level food and PDS short code used by many states, and it routes to the state call centre. Third-party sites list it for UP, but this is not confirmed on an official UP page. Confirm it on the official portal before relying on it.
What is 14445?
14445 is the One Nation One Ration Card toll-free number for ration card beneficiaries' grievances and distress calls. The PIB backgrounder says it is functional in most states and UTs. It is most useful if a shop in another state refuses your card.
How do I complain about my ration dealer in UP?
Write down the date, shop number, dealer name and the problem. Call a helpline and ask for a complaint number. If nothing happens, use the UP IGRS / Jansunwai-Samadhan grievance system or visit your district supply office with your written note.
The dealer is asking money for e-KYC. What should I do?
Refuse to pay anything beyond what is officially allowed. Note the shop number, the date and the amount asked, then complain through a helpline, the IGRS system or the supply office. You can also do e-KYC at another fair price shop, since UP beneficiaries can do it at any shop.
Can this website register my complaint?
No. This is an independent information guide, not a government website. We cannot register complaints or see your records. Never share your ration card number, Aadhaar or OTP with this site or anyone online. Use the official helplines and grievance channels listed on this page.
